LBN 558, containing dark nebulae LDN-1250/1 to the left and LDN-1246 to the right and is situated in the northern part of Cepheus known as the Cepheus flare region. There are also two PGC spiral galaxies seen in this image. PGC 69472 is to the left sitting at the nose of LBN 558, and PGC 166755 is just left of center. LBN 558 ranks at 6 on the LBN brightness scale, as dim as they get.
